Farrier Tools

Prepare the hoof as you would for nailing metal shoes. Trace the hoof or the shoe that came off. Cut or snip off the excess shoe at the trace line. If gluing the first choice is Vettec and the second is Equalox. If nailing, put the first nail in the center of the hoof.

Next put 3 nails on both sides of the hoof. Put the last nail as low as possible towards the heel. Leave nail heads 1/8″; do not hammer flush.
